Watch this new 1-minute video and you will learn how to describe a pet (you or someone you know) once had
| Hi Pelawat,So today we're talking about pets. Why pets? Contrary to what you may think, this isn't an easy topic!
Not everyone has a pet, and in fact many people aren't accustomed to keeping pets because it's not in their culture. Even when you do have a pet and love it dearly, you still need some vocabulary to talk about its looks, habits, needs and character traits.
Imagine you got this cue card in the Speaking test (it's quite popular!):
Describe a pet you (or someone you know) once had. You should say
- what kind of pet it was - what kind of care it needed - what you liked/disliked about this pet - and say whether this is a popular type of pet or not.
Watch the video below and you will know exactly what to say!

A very special thank you goes to Chuba (@chuba_like_chewbacca on Instagram) for starring in this video. Put a like if you think the little guy is awesome!
What's next?
Pelawat, my next Speaking video can be about YOUR pet! Send me a video of your pet - a dog, a cat, a bird, a fish, a lizard, a turtle, you get the idea 😉 Your video can be as short or as long as you like, you don't have to say anything if you're worried about your English, and you don't have to edit it. Make it vertical if you can, send it to me as attachment or download link, or share via DM on Instagram - whatever works for you.
Looking forward to seeing your favorite animal!
