Our student AK took IELTS in Australia and remembered the following questions from his exam:

Preparation Tip: Set aside an hour of your time and write your own essay and report under timed conditions. Start by writing an essay (approximately 40 minutes) and then write a report using the rest of your time. Simulating real exam conditions will help you get better at time management and perform well under pressure. Submit your writing for correction and learn how to score higher.

The charts below show the usage of coal, oil, hydropower, wind and renewable energy for fuel production, in 2002 and at present.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Writing task 2 (an essay)

Some people think that students should study in their own city, however, many students prefer to study far away from their home. Do the advantages of studying away from home outweigh the disadvantages?

Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.
