Writing test

Writing task 1 (a letter)

You recently learnt that a close friend of yours has had a baby, and you purchased a gift for the baby. Write a letter to your friend. In your letter

- Congratulate them on the arrival of the baby

- Describe the gift you have chosen for the baby

- Suggest arrangements for your visit to deliver the gift.

Writing task 2 (an essay)

Some companies have a policy of employing people from different age groups. Do the advantages of this outweigh the disadvantages?

Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your knowledge or experience.
