Fresh IELTS questions from Italy - May 2024 (Academic)

Our student FN took IELTS in Italy very recently and shared the following writing questions.

Preparation Tip: Set aside an hour of your time and write your own essay and report under timed conditions. Start by writing an essay (approximately 40 minutes) and then write a report using the rest of your time. Simulating real exam conditions will help you get better at time management and perform well under pressure. Submit your writing for correction and learn how to score higher.

Writing test

Writing task 1 (a report)

The line graphs below show the production and demand for steel in million tonnes and the number of workers employed in the steel industry in the UK in 2010.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

* Note: these aren't the original graphs given in the test, they were recreated for the purpose of demonstration.

Writing task 2 (an essay)

Many criminals commit more crimes as soon as they are released from prison. What do you think are the causes of this? What possible solutions can you suggest?

Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.

Pelawat, are you worried about your writing?

We are here to help, because there is no way you can assess your own writing. We are experienced human experts - not AI! This is important because in the real IELTS your writing will be checked by trained human examiners, according to marking criteria that AI checkers simply CAN'T replicate.

To make fast and reliable progress you need feedback from a human IELTS expert, who will go through your work, point out mistakes and tell you how to improve.

Submit your writing for correction, get rid of your mistakes, and get a much higher score in your exam!
